Sometimes moving on means finding yourself

Not long ago, I came across a quote that really made me stop and think:
"If you see the same tree twice in a forest, it's because you are lost."

At first, it seemed like just a nice metaphor. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. How often do we find ourselves thinking about going back—to people, places, or habits that we already left behind? Just because something feels familiar doesn't mean it's right.

Sometimes we go back because we're afraid of the unknown. But growth never happens in circles—it happens when we dare to take new steps, even if we're unsure where they lead.

I've learned that going back doesn't always mean healing. It might just mean we're afraid to move forward. And that's okay—we're human. But real progress begins the moment we choose ourselves. The moment we trust that what's ahead can be better than what we left behind.

So, if you're wondering whether to return to someone or something from your past, ask yourself:
Is this growth, or am I just afraid of being lost?

You're not lost. You're just becoming who you're meant to be.
