Just be good
One day I was waiting for the bus when I saw an old woman with heavy shopping bags. She looked very tired, and many people just walked past her. At first, I was not sure what to do, but then I went to her and asked if I could help. She smiled and said yes. I carried her bags for a few minutes, and she was so thankful. For me it was a small thing, but for her it was really important.
A few days later something similar happened to me. I had to bring a big box up the stairs in my building. It was heavy, and I thought I would drop it. Suddenly, my neighbour came and helped me carry it. We did not know each other well, but we laughed together while carrying the box. That moment made me realize how nice it feels when someone is kind to you.
Being good is not about big actions or being perfect. It is about small things we do every day. Saying "thank you," opening the door for someone, listening when they talk—these are simple actions, but they can change another person's mood.
In today's world, people are often in a hurry and think only about themselves. But when we decide to be kind, we show that we care. Everyone has problems, even if we cannot see them. One small act of kindness can give another person hope or strength.
"Just be good" is an easy rule for life. If we all try to follow it, even in small ways, our world will become warmer, friendlier, and more human.
