It’s Not Just a Brick

I recently saw a short video that stayed in my mind longer than I expected. A teacher of architecture stands in front of his students, holding a simple brick. "What is this?" he asks. "A brick," the class answers together. The teacher smiles, pauses for a moment, and then starts showing pictures. One by one, beautiful houses, bridges, and cathedrals appear on the screen. "You, see?" he says. "All of this is made of bricks. But it's not just a brick. Every brick has the potential to become something more."

That really touched me. How many times in life do we see "just a brick" — an ordinary thing, a person, or even ourselves — and miss what it could become? We often forget that every small thing can be part of something bigger. One brick alone isn't worth much, but when it's connected with others, it can become a cathedral.

It's the same with our skills, patience, and every little step we take. It might seem meaningless at first, but when we keep going, when we believe in the bigger picture that can grow from it, we start building something beautiful — our own house, our dream, our life.

The teacher with the brick reminded me that everything starts with how we look at things. When we look around with imagination and hope, the world stops being ordinary. And when we look at ourselves in the same way, we realize that we are not "just a brick" either. We are part of something meaningful — something that can become beautiful if we give it a chance to grow.
