A winner is just someone who tried one more time
"A winner is just a loser who tried one more time." This quote has been in my head a lot over the past week. Not because it sounds good on social media, but because it perfectly describes what I was going through.
Last week, I wrote about never giving up. I meant every word, but at the same time, I felt uncertain. I was talking about second chances while standing in front of my last one. My second attempt at the final exams. My final chance. No "maybe next time." Either now or never.
Being "the one who didn't make it the first time" is not easy. It brings doubts, shame, and quiet comparisons with others. It makes you question yourself and your abilities. And most of all, it brings fear — the fear of failing again. But this is exactly where the difference between a loser and a winner is made. Not in whether you fall, but in whether you decide to stand up one more time.
Yesterday, I passed my final exams. And it wasn't because I was suddenly smarter than before. It was because I didn't give up. Because I faced my fear and tried again, even when it felt uncomfortable.
Now I understand that winning does not always look like a big celebration. Sometimes it is just a quiet feeling of relief that you didn't give up on yourself. And if you are standing in front of something that didn't work out the first time, remember this: maybe you are not a loser. Maybe you are just someone who hasn't tried one more time yet. And sometimes, that is all it takes.
